Certainly, theres more to the Terminator program than pacing robots with human hide shooting their shotguns left and right and uttering the most clichd statements imaginable. In the end, the fate of John Connor who is the hero of the series, not the Terminator robots is a distressing one. John Connor is ordained to be one of the few survivors of Earth who will be in charging an extremely difficult revolt versus the robots. His success isnt certain, consideringthe timeline of the Terminator chain, yet, his more youthful self will time and time again be chased by Terminators driven by the machines from the future for the sole motivation that he will be the head of the valiant few who will face up to the future rulers of the the planet.
Whereas the number one Terminator flick started Arnolds calling as a Hollywood fame even though he played the character of the unstoppable killing robot, whereas Terminator 2: Judgment Day portrayed Arnold as the former model helpful robot lauched to protect John Connor from the new model killer automaton, and while Terminator 3, labeled as T3, had Arnold going back to protect John Connor from a new female killer machine, Terminator 4, labelled Terminator: Salvation, wont present Arnold in any way.
In its place, Terminator: Salvation will focus on John Connor in the future this instant played by Batman star Christian Bale and a new Terminator, Marcus Wright portrayed by Sam Worthington as they take on their destiny and lead to the fight to the automatons by embarking on to the heart of Skynet and untying all of its mysteries.
Terminator: Salvation is not a remake of the program.

However, as director McG has said, Terminator: Salvation will act as both a continuation and a prequel to the first flicks, and can be appreciated independently from the installments that came ahead of it. Terminator: Salvation will be regarding the coming of a hero, as stated by the oft forthright director.
